Fassa Bortolo Lime System and Politecnico di Milano: where research meets industry.

Reducing CO₂ emissions starts with a better understanding of materials. At the 7th European Steel Technology and Application Days (ESTAD 2025), Politecnico di Milano presented a study promoted by Fassa Bortolo on the natural CO₂ capture potential of EAF and LF steel slags.

The research highlights how chemical composition and particle structure influence carbonation efficiency — opening new perspectives for circular reuse of industrial by-products and low-carbon construction materials.
